Struggling with the costs of food or energy bills?
If you live in the Parish of Oulton we can provide some short-term assistance for you, and in complete confidence.
Oulton Poors Trust was set up to alleviate some of the financial challenges for people who live in the area. This is for anyone who is encountering financial hardship, even if you’re working full-time but just finding it hard to make ends meet. The help that we can provide is limited but will ease the burden for a while. For example, we could help by providing up to three supermarket vouchers at a time of crisis, or purchasing a slow cooker which you can use for low energy cooking.
So, please, if you need help, do get in touch via email: oultonpoorstrust@gmail.com

Local Council Award Scheme

Oulton Parish Council has received a prestigious award as part of the Local Council Award Scheme. There are only 3 other parishes in Suffolk who have achieved Foundation level of this ward.
This achievement recognises that the council achieves good practice in governance, community engagement and council improvement. Moreover, Oulton Parish Council goes above and beyond their legal obligations, leading their communities and continuously seeking opportunities to improve and develop even further.

The Local Council Award Scheme is a peer assessed programme that has been designed to both provide the tools and encouragement to those councils at the beginning of their improvement journeys, as well as promoting and recognising councils that are at the cutting edge of the sector. It is through the sector working together to share best practice, drive up standards and supporting those who are committed to improving their offer to their communities that individual councils and the sector as a whole will reach its full potential.

A huge thank you to our Parish Clerk, Carla Petersen who helped to make this achievement possible. Carla is the first person in the country to have achieved Foundation award for three parishes.
